Role Description
Castle Air Academy is seeking qualified IRI Instructors for full-time positions based at Gloucester Airport. While experience with Twin Engine ratings is preferred, we welcome applications from candidates who possess substantial single-engine IRI experience and are eager to acquire their Twin Engine IRI qualifications.
In this role, instructors will provide high-level training, focusing on Instrument Rating (IR) and Type Rating instruction. Castle Air Academy offers support for further professional development, including the opportunity to obtain a Twin Engine IRI rating.
Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver advanced flight training, including Instrument Rating (IR) and Type Rating instruction.
• Provide both theoretical and practical training in accordance with Castle Air Academy’s standards.
• Ensure that all instruction adheres to aviation regulations and best practices.
• Monitor student progress and provide feedback to ensure professional growth and skill development.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and procedures.
Qualifications:
• Proven experience as an Instrument Rating Instructor (IRI) with significant single-engine instruction.
• Strong knowledge of aviation regulations and industry standards.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively within a team.
• Willingness and capability to acquire a Twin Engine IRI rating (Castle Air Academy may support this process).
The successful candidate must either have:
• an IRI(H);
or
• Have completed at least 500 hours of flight time under IFR, of which at least 250 hours shall be instrument flight time in helicopters;
or
• Hold FI(H) Instructor rating and have completed at least 200 hours of flight time under IFR, of which a maximum of 50 hours may be instrument ground time in an FFS, an FTD 2/3 or an FNPT II
