Ian Taverner – Head of Engineering

Welcoming Ian Taverner to Castle Air Aviation Group as our new Head of Engineering.

Ian began his career in aviation in 1977 as an apprentice, qualifying as a licensed engineer just a few years later. From there, he progressed through the engineering management structure, holding positions including Supervisor, Chief Engineer, Maintenance Manager and Engineering Director.
His experience also includes serving as Accountable Manager for Search and Rescue operations in Ireland, alongside various commercial roles across multiple UK bases, before returning to the world of engineering leadership.

Since joining Castle Air in September 2025, Ian has stepped into the role during a period of significant growth for the Group. Working alongside the highly skilled teams across Castle Air Engineering and our partners at Heliwork, his focus is to build upon our already exceptional standards and further strengthen our position as the MRO of choice.
